Mangrove coastline at dusk

About

Our Roots

Born from a single wood fire and a low tide.

The name means what it says: raiz do mangue — root of the mangrove. This kitchen sits where the estuary meets the neighborhood, and it cooks accordingly: whatever the tide brings in, whatever the garden is willing to give up that week, cooked low and slow over wood until it tastes like the coast it came from.

There is no shortcut menu here. The grill runs on real coals, the drinks are built from real fruit and herbs pulled that morning, and the room is arranged for conversations that outlast dessert.

Craft over shortcuts

Every basket, cup and board on this table was made by hand by someone from this coast. We buy slow so the room stays honest.

Trust, sourced locally

The same fishers, the same farmers, week after week. It is the only way we know to keep a menu honest.

What We Stand For

Four roots, one table.

We buy from the same small crews every week — whatever the tide gives up goes straight from the boat to the grill, usually the same day.

Come taste where the roots run.
